Atlantic Street Capital Invests in Alex Apparel Group, Inc. – Leading Women’s Eveningwear Maker with Strong Historical Performance And Proven Managment Team Has Signigicant Growth Opportunities
STAMFORD, CT, December 19, 2011 – Atlantic Street Capital, a private equity firm investing in the lower middle market, announced today an investment in Alex Apparel Group, Inc., a leader in moderately-priced traditional eveningwear known for flattering fit, focus on trend right details, and high quality at reasonable prices.
Headquartered in New York, Alex designs, sources and distributes branded ladies eveningwear dresses and separates to the moderate to upper-moderate segments of the women’s apparel industry. The company’s simple and classic traditional designs are sold under the Alex Evenings brand name. Distributed in over 3,400 doors nationally, Alex Evenings is available at leading department stores, including Macy’s, Dillard’s, and Nordstrom, in addition to specialty boutiques.
Alex Apparel was co-founded in 1989 by Dean and Jeanne Brizel, who will continue in their existing roles as CEO and Head Designer, respectively. They remain major shareholders alongside Atlantic Street in the transaction.
